The Back Story:
Old Mackinac Point
Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse was built in 1892. One feature about Old Mackinac Point that made it unique
was its surroundings. The Lighthouse had been placed, surrounded by a public park that existed before the station was established. The tower stands 40-feet high and had a range of 15 miles. It was decommissioned in 1957.
About The Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vacation sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appear quarterly in the Keeper’s Log a
publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
