The Back Story:
Point Robinson
Point Robinson was named for a member of the 1841 Wilkes Expedition. The land on which the 1915 lighthouse sits was originally used for a fog signal station. The light from this tower can be seen for 14 miles. The lighthouse is situated halfway between Seattle and Tacoma, WA on Maury Island in Puget Sound. It was automated in 1978.
About the Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vacation sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appear quarterly in the Keeper's Log, a publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
