The Back Story:
Sea Girt
This beautiful Light, its tower nestled within an L-shaped Victorian building, first lighted the seafarer’s way on December 10, 1896. The structure had been more than six years in the making, with its initial financing appropriated in 1889. It was used until 1945 when it was decommissioned and made a historic part of New Jerseys small city life.
About The Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vacation sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appear quarterly in the Keeper’s Log a
publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
