The Back Story:
Seul Choix Point
The Seul Choix Point Lighthouse (pronounced Sis-Shwa meaning “Only Choice”) has represented peacefulness and a place of refuge during the changing times. The Native Americans and fur traders sought safety in the harbor while fishermen and loggers depended on its resources for their livelihood. Sailors relied on the light and fog signal for a guide. Today, shipping industries still use the light as a functioning navigational guide.
About The Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vacation sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appear quarterly in the Keeper’s Log a
publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
