The Back Story:
Cape Neddick
Also known as “Nubble”, the Cape Neddick lighthouse was built in 1879. It became the property of the nearby town of York in 1998. It is one of the most photographed lighthouses in Maine. At Christmas time the exterior is outlined with lights. It is an active aid to navigation and is not currently open to the public.
About the Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vacation sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appear quarterly in the Keeper's Log, a publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
