The Fun Zone on the Balboa Peninsula of Newport Beach is one of Southern California’s oldest attractions for seaside fun-seekers, and the terminus of the Balboa Ferry. Every year more than 2.5 million locals and tourists use the ferries to cross Newport Harbor between Balboa Island and the peninsula.
Balboa Island Ferry service has operated continuously since 1909. Each of the three 64-foot ferry boats can carry 100 passengers and up to four cars, and makes as many as eight round trips per hour. About the Artist: Jim Krogle, a graduate of Chouinard Art Institute, has enjoyed an extensive career as an American Illustrator. He now follows his true passion painting the beach and surf scene he grew up with as a Southern California native. More of Jim’s work can be found on his website.www.jimkrogle.com
