The Back Story:
Titan Scorpian Fish - (Scorpaenopsis cacopsis)
This is a mottled orange-red fish, with fleshy flaps on its head and body, with long, venomous dorsal spines and pectoral rays. This fish lives in the reef areas, usually under overhangs. It’s Hawaiian name is “Nohu”, like its land counterpart the Puncture Vine which also uses spines for protection. Both the land and sea counterpart species are well camouflaged, meaning they blend in well with their environment, and both are hearty species that thrive in difficult areas. Hawaiians have traditionally been fond of the Nohu (fish) because of its taste. Some fishermen say that if someone eats a Nohu, then that person will snore in their sleep.
