The Back Story:
Charlotee - Genesee
The Charlotte-Genesee lighthouse was built in 1822. The tower, 40-feet high, was equipped with ten argand lamps fueled with whale oil. In the early 1880’s, the tower was deactivated and now serves as a local maritime museum.
About the Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vacation sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appear quarterly in the Keeper's Log, a publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
