The Back Story:

Ludington

The 57 foot tall steel-plate lighthouse lies along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, at the end of the breakwater on Pere Marquette Harbor. Given its location on the northern breakwater it is sometimes known as the Ludington North Breakwater Light. The current tower was first lit in 1924 and automated in 1972 by the U.S. Coast Guard and currently remains as an active navigational aid. The “Sable Point Lighthouse Keepers Association” now maintains the lighthouse in order to preserve its history for all to enjoy

About the Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vacation sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appear quarterly in the Keeper's Log, a publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
