The Back Story:
Prospect Harbor Lighthouse
The Prospect Harbor Lighthouse was established in 1850, while the recent wooden lighthose was constructed and went into service in 1891. The United States Coast Guard automated the lighthouse in 1951 and still maintains the light as an important aid to navigation. The U.S. Navy owns the surrounding property and the remaining three buildinings: a keeper's house, oil house and boathouse.
About The Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vacation sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appear quarterly in the Keeper’s Log a
publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
