About GrafixMat Coasters:

The Back Story:
Sand Key
Lit in 1853, the present Sand Key lighthouse is a 109 feet tall skeletal tower. The keeper's quarters had nine rooms. In 1983, Sand Key light was automated and in 1989 a fire severly damaged the keeper's quarters. The light was hence moved to a temporary structure. It was returned to the tower in 1998. The keepers quarters were demolished 1996. It is maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard as a current aid to maritime navigation.
About The Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vacation sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appear quarterly in the Keeper’s Log a
publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
