The Back Story:
Aloha Kaua - Greetings to you and me!
Giggling and utterly charming, these round-cheeked keiki (children) wearing traditional leis (floral garlands) represent the fun-loving openness and friendship with which Hawaiians greet visitors to their island home.
Hospitality, openness and playfulness are mainstays of Hawaiian cultur and the Aloha Spirit. The enchanting hula ceremony in particular, more than just a dance, relates the epic legends of Hawaiiwan history, religion and folklore. Young dancers study in halua hula (hula schools) to learn the graceful movements and steps. Hula reflects the rich heritage and uniqueness that is Hawaii, and is a happy way to say Mahalo nui loa! (thanks very much!) to their guests
