The Back Story:
How The Zebra Got Its Stripes
One day, a fierce baboon declared himself ruler over the vast African plains and decreed that he alone could drink from its river.
After awhile, a young Zebra decided to take a stand against the baboon and challenged him to a fight. During the long battle, the baboon tossed the stallion into a nearby fire, searing black marks onto the Zebra’s snow-white coat.
The pain spurred one final mighty kick from the young warrior that sent the baboon landing with such force that a bald patch remains on the baboon’s backside to this day!
From that day forward, all animals were free to drink from the river and roam the plains. And, all zebras wear their stripes with pride!
