The Back Story:
The Nanook
The Nanook (Polar Bear) can be found in the artic regions of North America and Siberia. The Polar Bear is considered a potentially threatened species, being very easy for the species to become endangered. Currently, there are between 22,000 and 27,000 Polar Bears in the world. Their slow breeding habits make them vulnerable, and global warming from pollution could have a disastrous effect on these cold-loving creatures. There have been many acts of conservation to preserve the safety and wellness of these creatures by restricting hunting and other human activities in the artic, such as oil exploration and protection of habitat stasis.
